FAWN + HEATHER

“It’s Practically an HGTV Show!”

Projects
Fawn

When I started this design for our marketing gal, Claire, I knew we would go BIG! Claire and her husband purchased their new house in the fall of 2020 for their family of four. Location was key for them because they wanted to ensure their kids were near the school system where David works. We always joke and say that Claire knows everyone. I think it’s because when you’re genuine human like she is, relationships aren’t surface level; they stick. We’ve had the privilege to get to know Claire, David, their kiddos, and even her large extended family who came out of the woodwork during our Fall Workshop to lend their hands, tools, trucks, and time to make our event a success. It’s no doubt that we have been blessed by this family and believe with every fiber in our bones that our paths crossed for a reason!

Once Claire and her family moved into their new home, she started making changes on the interior to make their new house a home. She loved the character and charm of this house but knew it needed a facelift to make it more youthful. Every time she talks about the exterior, Claire says, “I just want it to feel fresh and right now it feels dated.” Claire reached out and inquired for a custom design from Fawn Renae Designs and from there, we started dreaming big!

As the owner of two businesses (Fawn Renae Designs and Those Plant Ladies), I love that I have the opportunity to dream with my clients, and then carry out the installation of plants through TPL. One of my favorite things about my career is seeing it go from phase one — a design on my computer to phase two — putting plants in the ground and making the transformation come to life. The amount of time that I sit behind a computer and tweak the exterior color, select a new front door (literally took me an entire day to decide on a new door for this house), select plants that will grow and thrive in this location… is often days. For the entire week, I’m reviewing my notes that I took during our consultation, staring at the before images, browsing inspirations online to keep with the specific style of the house, and merge that with the homeowners’ style. Taking my design work from one business (Fawn Renae Designs) and transforming it with the other business (Those Plant Ladies) is so rewarding! It makes all of the hours and days worth it.

FRONT OF THE HOUSE TRANSFORMATION

If you’re an HGTV-lover like we are, you’re probably obsessed with seeing transformations come to life and the impact they have on people’s lives. I firmly believe that since we’re living in unprecedented times, it’s more important now than ever before to invest in our homes so that we can thrive and create the calm around us.

I remember telling Heather that I just wanted to see this design come to its FULL life — not just the plant removal and installation — but bring the exterior changes too. It would be as if we were creating our own tv show, involving and highlighting our community and other local businesses!

Why not?!

If anyone deserved it, it would be Claire and her sweet family. So here we are: I revealed the design transformation on Friday, March 19th and we’re ready to start tackling this project!

While I don’t have all of the answers or resources to make this come to life on my own, I do believe that when God gives you a vision, the wise thing to do is to step out in faith and watch Him put all the pieces together. If you or someone you know is wanting to join us as we document and showcase this transformation on all of our social platforms, please let us know! If you have materials or have similar products that you would like to donate, get in touch.

BACK OF THE HOUSE TRANSFORMATION

How can you help? Here’s what we need…

  1. Brick and stucco painting. We’re working with Isaac Sanchez of Spraymasters who is local to the Foothills of NC and uses Benjamin Moore paint.
  2. New front door and garage door + installation. We need the materials, the removal of the current doors, and the installation of the new ones.
  3. Updating the exterior lighting + installation. This house needs modern style sconces; we need the fixtures and installation.
  4. Removing selected trees. Claire and her husband plan on tackling a big portion of the existing landscape removal themselves with our guidance, but we will need help removing large, mature trees that are too close to the house.
  5. Front entrance walkway and backyard herringbone pattern patio + installation. We’re looking for a contractor who can remove the current brick that’s there and then install an updated look.
  6. A-frame structure for the patio + installation. Once the patio is extended it will be the perfect size for an overhead structure to protect from the elements.
  7. Plant installation. Of course, TPL has Claire covered, but we want you to come to learn alongside us as we complete this piece of the puzzle too! Here’s the link to join us for this fall installation.

How does the business to business collaboration work?

We’re documenting this process from start to finish. If you know anything about our business, it’s the importance of collaboration over competition. We believe that if we work together, we can create the best result for our client and create amazing transformation content in the process to use within the selected businesses! We bring a whole marketing team to the table with our videographer, photographer, social media strategist, blog post creators, and word of mouth advertising that we’ve reaped the results of in our own business! Social media is 99% of how we have seen the success we have, and we would love for YOU to be a part of this project with us!

You know we love to create content and have a good time while we’re doing it so that means you get to join in the fun. The bigger you jump in, the more content you’ll get!

When is this going down?

Phase 1 with the exterior changes starts this summer. Exterior painting is projected to take place in early June, and we would like to have tree removal, hardscape sourced, and doors and lighting done prior or in sequence during this summer. With the removal of existing lanscape already underway, TPL plans to put the finishing touches with the landscape installaiton this fall (after September). Lets get this project rolling and work out all of the deets and let’s do this together!

If you want to be a part of this huge transformation — aka our local HGTV show — email thoseplantladies@gmail.com to chat about the specifics and how you’d like to show up.

We believe in the power of supporting local businesses and aim to create beautiful marketing content for everyone involved and to ultimately give Claire and her family the house of their dreams!
