First, can we just stop and talk about the name of this podcast, Dare to Develop? It made us stop and think, what are we daring to develop right now? In a lot of ways, our whole business has felt like a leap of faith — a dare to develop this brand that didn’t make sense to a lot of people. And truth be told, there have been moments that even we don’t understand everything that this business is.

It’s definitely a journey that we’ve been on for the past ten years! Isn’t it crazy to think about all of the hurdles, frustrations, down-in-the-dump moments that are being used to fuel our future? We truly believe that our past doesn’t define us, but it certainly has made us who we are today. 

The Dare to Develop podcast is hosted by Kristine + Ashley who are both hybrid wedding photographers (wedding lingo that means they shoot digital and film) based in Northern California. They created this podcast with creatives in mind. Here are their words:

WE DARE YOU: 

We definitely want to give that other person permission to do the thing that is on their heart, and that gives them life and to step outside of the box to reflect on what matters to them and what is meaningful for their life, and what their purpose is, and then to give themselves permission. 

Many times as we reflect back on my beginning years through childhood and through the beginning of our career, that’s all we ever wanted was somebody to be like, “You can be different.” Once we started doing the self-development and we were like, “Why are we waiting on somebody to give me permission?”

We just have to give ourselves permission to do it because nobody else is gonna do it for us. So for the listeners, we would urge you to give yourself permission to do the thing that’s on your heart. 

We dare you to be you to dig deep and figure out what’s inside you. That’s unique to you and not been done by anybody else or you know; if not you then who? If it’s something that’s on your heart and God has placed in your life, He called you to do it. And if you’re not going to do it, then who would? So step up.
