When we set out to make this video happen, it was just a vision in my head. I learned a long time ago through my photography business that things don’t always come together exactly the way you think they will. Wedding dress designers yank their dresses at the last minute and you’re left to quickly figure out plan B. So yes, a plan is important to me but I’ve learned to roll with the punches over the years.
We had put the word out on social media that we wanted women to join us for our video shoot and we were pumped to have 20 ladies joining us. We had secured our creative dream team: Joni from Arc House Collective as our creative director and Clay from Aboard Paddle to capture drone footage. I curated a bunch of clothes from our closets and the TPL store so we could style everyone. Other than that, I had a vision for the day and I just trusted God that it would all come together.
When you work outdoors, you quickly learn how important the weather is to the success of your day. We arrived at Broken Arrow Farm on December 28 to the most glorious winter day. (And you know how winter in North Carolina can be!) The sun was shining and the sky was absolutely stunning. It was one of those days where you just knew it was set up for victory.
And victory is an understatement. I’m so freaking proud of this video and how it tells our story. I’m so impressed with our creative team and the footage they captured. I’m forever grateful for the ladies who spent their afternoon with us.
